Roofline
Fascias, Soffits & Guttering
The roofline area is the most exposed and vulnerable feature of any property. It is ravaged by all weathers and is susceptible to hazards such as blocked gutters, which along with traditional timber fascias are prone to rot. Unfortunately, if they are left for too long without attention damp can penetrate into the roof area causing joists to rot and mould to appear on the ceilings.
Maintaining your roofline area is one of those dreaded jobs that no doubt either keeps getting put back or never gets done as it’s rarely a quick fresh coat of paint that is needed, more often than not areas will require patching and filling. |

Installation process
Some installers will fix the new board over the top of the existing ones, this process is often referred to as ‘cloaking or capping over’. Although this process is quick and often much cheaper it is a disaster in the long run as it merely just hides the actual problem and boxes in the area where damp and rot can spread to. Our trained team of surveyors will always advise that the bottom row of tiles are removed and the existing felt is cut back, existing fascias, bargeboards and guttering will then be removed where necessary. The new soffit will be installed with 18mm thick fascia board using stainless steel ring shanked nails. The next stage is to install the guttering and down pipes along with our eaves protection system with rodent guard where it is applicable refit the tiles and then a final wipe down and clean. |
